Reflecting on his late-blooming love for poetry, Edward describes his escape from anxiety over reading lines ‘correctly’ or even having to find poetry interesting. The ‘sketch-like’ quality of ‘Lines Written in Early Spring’ is brought alive by Edward’s image of Wordsworth propped up in long grass, listening to the sounds of the world around him. Edward’s reading forms part of Dead Poets School, our free resource for GCSE students who – in this case – are studying poems on AQA Worlds and Lives.
